Summer 2018 – Youth Classes at CFT

Starting Monday, June 18th CrossFit Tides will have Summer Kids, Middle School, and High School CrossFit Classes.

Looking forward to getting your kids moving and in shape this summer? We are gearing up for summer with a new program for kids, middle school, and high school athletes. The goal of our kids program is to have young athletes create a positive association with physical activity.

If you are looking for a fun supportive and productive summer activity for your child look no further.

About the Programs

Our kids program focuses on mixing fun with fitness. The kids will learn proper mechanics, build social skills, and challenge their cognitive development in a safe and supportive environment. This program is geared for kids ages 5-10.

The High School and Middle School Programs share a common goal of increased athletic performance by making the athletes more explosive, more powerful, and stronger. This prescription is ideal for increasing confidence, or preparing for next year’s season. By scaling speed, volume, load, and intensity, we can make each session appropriate for an elite high-school athlete and a teen simply looking to develop an active and fit lifestyle.

Middle school 10-13 or 5th-8th

High school 13-18 or 9-12th

Schedule

Monday
9:00am – 10:00am – Kids
10:00am – 11:30am – Middle/High School (this session will combine CrossFit and the Teens Weightlifting option)

Wednesday
10:00am – 11:00am – Middle/High School

Friday
9:00am – 10:00am – Kids
10:00am – 11:00am – Middle/High School

*The Classes will officially start JUNE 18, however please know kids will be able to join the program at anytime.

Prices options for All classes

Punch Card $85 for 10 classes
Drop-in $10/ class

Unlimited options for Middle School and High School Classes

Unlimited High School – $100
Unlimited Middle School – $100

Program Director
This program is ran by Callie Smith. Callie is a certified CrossFit level (2) trainer and received her M.A. in Sports Management from Western Michigan University. In addition to running the program at Tides she is the Head Coach and Manager at our partner gym CrossFit Torrent in Kalamazoo. Callie believes that kids and teens strive in a fun and hard working environment.

Coaches
Morgan VanDenberg is a certified level (1) trainer and is a CrossFIt Coach at our partner gym, CrossFit Torrent. Morgan has been coaching kids in CrossFIt for a year and half and believes that introducing fitness into a child’s life is one of the most rewarding things she can do for them.
